HMC, a professional association between Joseph W. Hammond and Sture A. Linden, has been engaged in global management consulting since 1993. Our firm has gained considerable experience in heavily regulated industries, including securities trading and investment banking, financial services, defense contracting, pharmaceuticals, heavy manufacturing, consumer products, and insurance. We maintain affiliations with a core group of experienced consultants in order to meet a wide range of client project and staffing requirements.
Principles of our practice:
-
A Team Approach – HMC consultants work directly with client representatives to create an effective set of project deliverables. Emphasis is placed on client participation for implementation, continuity, and results.
-
Consistent Effort and Attention – HMC principals have specialized in management consulting for more than twenty years. Consulting is the firm's only business activity. We are not affiliated with manufacturers, suppliers or service providers. HMC delivers independent objectivity, pacing, and quality results.
-
Effective Planning – HMC uses proven methodologies to develop practical recommendations. Deliverables are based on an understanding of individual project requirements, business needs, and regulatory realities in each country where our clients operate. Our firm develops custom work products and problem solutions for each engagement based on client conditions combined with our years of international experience.
-
Ethical Conduct – HMC consultants subscribe to the highest ethical standards and guidelines of the management consulting profession. We respect without reservation the business confidentiality requirements of our clients.
Starting the relationship:
HMC believes that a well-prepared proposal forms the basis for a successful client/consultant relationship. We take all the time necessary to develop our proposals before we undertake any project work. Because a proposal becomes the contractual terms of engagement, our firm will make preliminary site visits to potential clients anywhere in the world so that it can be compiled through face-to-face discussion, hands on review, and mutual consensus. These sales visits allow us to meet key project representatives, understand the nature and scope of the issues, agree on ways to address these issues, define anticipated deliverables, set out what our firm and the client will each contribute to complete the project successfully, and to establish project schedules and costs.
Key people:
Joseph W. Hammond and Sture A. Linden have each been engaged in client based consulting for more than two decades. Their working affiliation began in 1984. Both share equally in overall firm strategy, client support, and project management. Other members of the HMC team contribute skills and knowledge from many different backgrounds, and all have been part of our project resource pool for many years.
